Los Alamitos Unified School District - Modernization Improvements

In 2006-07 the District conducted a comprehensive facilities needs assessment through consultation with architects, engineers, and school stakeholders.

It is no surprise to those who work in the schools that there are significant needs: upgraded power, new plumbing, classroom lighting and windows, interiors, bathrooms, roofs, technology infrastructure, HVAC, etc.

For more information, visit the School Districts website by clicking here.

Reporting Coyote Activity in Your Neighborhood

Coyotes have always been a part of our local environment, living in and around flood control areas, wetlands, nature centers and other open spaces. most of the time, coyotes shy away from populated areas; however, if tempted by easy food sources, they can be drawn into neighborhoods. Fortunately, following a few simple guidelines will discourage coyotes from staying in your neighborhood:

  • Keep trash cans covered at all times

  • Never leave pet food outside

  • Pick up fallen fruit from fruit tress

  • Keep small pets in, especially cats and dogs (Dawn and Dusk specifically)

  • Clear brush from around the house

  • Never leave small children unsupervised outside

To report coyote activity, contact our service provider:
