not appearing on the agenda. Supporting
documents, including staff reports, are available for review at City Hall in
the City Clerk’s Office or on the City’s website at www.ci.los-alamitos.ca.us once the
agenda has been publicly posted.
Any written materials relating to an item on this
agenda submitted to the City Council after distribution of the agenda packet
are available for public inspection in the City Clerk’s Office, 3191 Katella
Ave., Los Alamitos CA 90720, during normal business hours. In addition, such writings or documents will
be made available for public review at the respective public meeting.
It is
the intention of the City of Los Alamitos to comply with the Americans with

Meals Transportation Agreement
(Community Srvcs)
This report seeks City Council
consideration of contract renewal with the Orange County Transportation
Authority (OCTA) for Senior Citizen Transportation Services for the one (1)
year period from: July 1, 2010 - June
30, 2011.
Recommendation: Authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute
Amendment No. 15 to Agreement No. C-8-0192, which extends existing
transportation services between the City of Los Alamitos and OCTA in an amount
not to exceed $3,367.00 for the provision of transportation services through
June 30, 2011 for senior citizens participating in the Los Alamitos Senior
Meals & Services Program.
D. Resolutions Pertaining to the
November 2, 2010, General Municipal Election ATT1 ATT2 ATT3 (City Clerk)
The City of Los Alamitos General Municipal
Election will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. It is City policy to consolidate the local
election with the County of
Recommendation:
1. Adopt Resolution No. 2010-06, entitled
“A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOS ALAMITOS, CALIFORNIA,
CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE
HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2010, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN O
2. Adopt Resolution No. 2010-07, entitled
“A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOS ALAMITOS, CALIFORNIA,
REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO CONSOLIDATE A
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 2, 2010, WITH THE STATEWIDE
GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE DATE PURSUANT TO SECTION 10403 OF THE
ELECTIONS CODE”; and,
3. Adopt Resolution No. 2010-08, entitled
“A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOS ALAMITOS, CALIFORNIA,
ADOPTING REGULATIONS FOR CANDIDATES FOR ELECTIVE O
A request has been received to change
the existing Yield signs on Paseo Bonita at Rossmoor Way, and Bradbury Road, to
a Stop sign.
Recommendation: Authorize the placement of Stop signs going
north and south on Paseo Bonita at Rossmoor Way and Bradbury Road.
F. Consideration of No
Parking Request on Ball Road ATT1 ATT2 ATT3 (Public
Works)
An older
pickup truck and a RV have been parking along Ball Road behind the residential
neighborhood. There are two concerns
with allowing parking along Ball Road.
The parked vehicles will impede the flow of traffic and they require the
bike riders to travel very close to the flow of traffic in the number two lane.
Recommendation: Post “No Parking” on the north and south side
of Ball Road from Bloomfield Street west to the City limits; with the exception
of the commercial area on the north side of Ball Road, west of Bloomfield
Street and 50’ past the second driveway, which should be posted ‘no overnight
parking’.

9. Agreement for Animal Control Services
between the City of Long Beach and the City of Los Alamitos (Finance)
The City of
Los Alamitos has contracted with the City of Long Beach for animal control
services since Fiscal Year 2001-02. This
item proposes a two-year agreement for Fiscal Year 2010-11 & 2011-2012 with
an option for a four-year extension.
Recommendation: Authorize the mayor to execute the Agreement
for Animal Control Services between the City of Long Beach and the City of Los
Alamitos for the term July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2012.
