B. Warrants (Finance)
March
15, 2010.
The City’s
consultant, Sloan Vazquez, received three (3) requests from prospective bidders
to extend the deadline for responses to the RFP for solid waste collection
services for at least seven days.
Recommendation:
City Council authorize an extension of the deadline for responses to the
solid waste collection RFP for a period of one week to March 26, 2010.

9. DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Consideration of a Recommendation to
Cancel the 4th of July Fireworks
Spectacular (Recreation & Comm. Services)
This report presents the recent history of the
expenditures and revenue for the 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular,
and seeks the authority to cancel the event due to the inability of the Joint
Forces Training Base to allow a charge for vehicles and pedestrians to enter
the base.
Recommendation:
1. Authorize the cancellation of the Fireworks Spectacular on
July 4, 2010 at the Joint Forces Training
Base.
2. Reduce the amount budgeted for the 4th
of July Fireworks Spectacular by
$14,930.
The
City Council approved a Request for Proposals (RFP) for residential and
commercial solid waste collection services on January 19, 2010. On March 1, 2010, the City Council appointed
an ad hoc subcommittee to discuss and make recommendations to the Council
regarding the weighting of criteria utilized to evaluate firms that responded
to the solid waste collection RFP.
Recommendation: Approve the attached Technical Evaluation
Worksheet which will be utilized by the City’s consultant, Sloan Vazquez, when
evaluating the responses to the Solid Waste Collection Request for Proposals
(RFP).
C. Update on two Capital Improvement
Projects: 1) Highlands Residential Street Resurfacing and 2) Katella
Ave. Rehabilitation from Siboney
Street to Walker St. (Public Works)
This report provides an update of
construction activities on the Highlands Neighborhood Street Rehabilitation
Project and the upcoming Katella Avenue Resurfacing Project.
Recommendation: City Council receive and file.
